Maya and Nisha take the Tube
Today I got to go on a walk through central London with Maya. She’s my best friend and I hadn’t seen her for the whole weekend so I was really excited.
We had to get the tube the whole way there. I think in America it’s called the metro which seems like a funny name. I’m a bit scared of the tube because it’s underground and it’s sometimes really windy. My dad told me once that it’s because dragons live in the tunnels and the wind is their breath. Maya isn’t scared at all and told me dragons don’t exist so I shouldn’t be scared either. I just think she hasn’t seen them yet.
The tube can be a bit boring when Maya’s not there. She always swings on the hand holds like monkey-bars, even when her mum tells her off.
I spent the journey singing my favourite Madonna songs. Dad told me I need to be quiet on the tube and use my inside singing voice. He doesn’t understand that I have to practice because we are planning a whole performance with singing and dancing. Maya even wants to use her skateboard to do some tricks in the middle. It’s going to be awesome.
